Basic procedures on scoping for IP PABx

* Determine the Main Distribution Frame (MDF).

* Ask the client how many nodes.

* Suggest or recommend the right type of cable.

1. Cat 5e
2. Cat 6

Note: Assess the location if it should be indoor or outdoor and if it should be placed on what floor of the building.

* Estimate how far (in meters) would be the location of the nodes.

* Request for a blueprint of the building.
